Emerson Crane Rental Inc. was founded by Scott Emerson in 1995 with a 35-ton-capacity Grove TMS 300 LP. A second crane was added in 1998, a 15-ton-capacity Grove TM 155. John Emerson, Scott's youngest son, took over ownership of the company in 2023 and continues to grow the business to meet today's market.

Emerson Crane has a booming crane fleet with several cranes ranging from 30 ton to 450 ton. John has also introduced trucking services with his ownership, offering heavy hauling with a variety of trailers.

Working locally in Waterloo, Emerson Crane has completed numerous jobs for the Cedar Valley, including Lost Island Water Park and Theme Park, John Deere, Tysons and many more. Emerson Crane was also a key factor to the team of the ABC show, 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' in 2012.
